Saturday June 4, 2016, Humphreys Backstage Live will host the 4th annual 'Groovin' on the Point' from 2-7pm. This benefit concert will feature the award winning Correia Middle School Jazz Band, CMS Intermediate Guitar Class, and the CMS Vocal Ensemble, lead by musical directors Marc Dwyer and Ina Soliz. Along with these talented students, the First Friday Music Club will feature some amazing kids' bands. Local FFMC band performing in support of music education will be 'The Openers', featuring former Humphreys manager Richard Irby on lead guitar, whose son Seth will fill in on bass that night. The Point has an abundance of musical talent, with amazing support from the community and parents. This is a combined fundraiser for both non-profit organizations, the First Friday Music Club and Correia Instrumental Music Association (CIMA). Due to lack in funding for school music, it is programs like these that keep music education thriving on the Point. Come on out to the Beautiful Humphreys, enjoy an afternoon of great music & raffle prices, and support music education for our kids.
