First Friday Music Club

Repeated SDUSD budget cuts affect our music programs tremendously, leaving the parents and community to step up to provide the best possible education for our kids. CIMA and the FFMC have been a driving force in raising money to cover the cost of coaches, workshops, instruments, instrument repair, trips, festivals, etc. at Correia Middle School as well as providing unique performance opportunities and lesson scholarships for young aspiring musicians. From 2pm-7pm, Saturday June 4th, Humphreys Backstage Live on Shelter Island will be filled with the sounds of The Point’s amazing musical talent, young and ‘old’. This fundraiser, another collaboration of the First Friday Music Club (FFMC) and Correia Instrumental Music Association (CIMA), will star the Correia & PLHS guitar class, the Correia Jazz Band, FFMC students, including current and alumni students from well known local bands like Soul Arch, Chihuahua, new Friday Girl Power, and Sour Mouth as well as adult (parent) band The Openers.  This is your opportunity to have a great time and support music education in our community! There will be amazing raffle prizes and door prizes:  —gift certificate for Interior or Exterior Detail from Detail in Progress, Prentice St. Clair, President, IDA-CD/SV, RT, value $200 —$50 gift certificate for The Quarterdeck Bar and Grill at The Bay Club, donated by Detail in Progress --- The Bayclub room package is a one night hotel stay with water view and free parking valued $202.00, Expiration date is 6/30/2018 --- $60 giftcertificate for a dinner for two at the Bayclub, includes any two entrees from the regular menu including choice of soup or salad, vegetable and potatoes, donated by the Bayclub.
